And my question is - how long does ngircd storage messages from one user to another if another user has lost connection for a long time (minute / hour / day)? I tried to find the answer in source code, but unfortunately I have not enough expirience in C-programming. So my search stuck in <Conn_Handler(void)> in <conn.c> file. So, how long? :)
ngIRCd -- like all IRC servers -- doesn't "keep" messages for users not connected to the network. So if the target isn't connected, the message can't be delivered at all (and the sender receives an error message).
